The first meeting

In 2013, I was on the look out for a horse. I had been a working pupil at an event yard and then set up a free lance riding business, looking to make riding and competing my profession. I had my event horse, Squirrel, who was competing at novice level but he was in his early teens and had hock arthritis so I needed a youngster to take the reins. I had found a promisin g 3 year old but after failing the vet, I was on the lookout. A New Eventure

This blog is going to serve as a diary, a memoir and a log of the next big step in my horsey life. My mare, Lexi, has been off for the winter with a strained collateral ligament. At one point, it started to look like she wasn't going to come right. Then she did but by then, the seed had been planted into my mind. It is time for her to have a foal.  I had been planning to do this at some stage anyway. The stallion i've been drooling over for years is getting older and Lexi is now 12. Plus, she is already out of work. So why not? (Money and my sanity for two things!) I want to remember every detail of this long, stressful journey because i am a glutton for punishment and hopefully it will put me off ever doing it again. Plus I need something to fill my time so....blogging it is.
